Jobs for October

October is truly a month of change. The month often starts with warm winds and end with bitter cold mornings. The dahlias start the month in full swing and will continue to grow and bloom until the first really harsh frost. A few years ago life in the garden and the allotment would dwindle during October but now we are seeing later autumn growth in the warmer parts of the country. Here in Cornwall the dahlias were still in flower till early December.
