The Dreaded Drought
August can be the hottest month of the year. Although the light is already fading earlier in the evenings and the lengthening nights can be cooler the days can still be hot and dry - and this year is turning into one of the hottest and driest! When the rain comes we pray for big fat rain drops to actually soak the soil, but instead we are met with fine sheets of rain or what I like to call “wet air” that does nothing but harm and I find my garden flowers and the veg patch infected with both powdery mildew and fire blight (especially the trees).
